MISSION NORTH

What’s next? Mission North is the realization of my dream to explore and document the Polar regions. Working in Alaska and across the Arctic will initiate the next phase of my career as a photographer, drone operator, and documentary filmmaker, allowing me to capture the changing environment through a multimedia approach that immerses people in our natural world.

Announcing Alaska for March 2021 - V3

What’s Next?

Mission North is the realization of my dream to explore and document the Polar regions. Working in Alaska and across the Arctic will initiate the next phase of my career as a photographer, drone operator, and documentary filmmaker, allowing me to capture the changing environment through a multimedia approach that immerses people in our natural world.

vision + Deliverables

My goal is twofold: to provide images and short films for conservation organizations that help deliver their message to a wider audience, and to create an independent, multimedia body of work that illuminates the extraordinary Arctic for fine art prints and short films.

Alaska is one of the most captivating terrains in the world. It is home to magnificent wildlife, unique environments, and indigenous communities. The relationship between wildlife and native communities is particularly remarkable. Narratives that support coexistence and protection of necessary wildlife environments will be my primary focus. Migration patterns and birthing dens for porcupine caribou and polar bears, along with the protection of wolves and bear cubs are photo stories or short films that are currently being developed.

you’re driving?!

You bet! Google would tell you this drive is 4000 miles, but we all know that’s not likely once I get off-road. Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, British Columbia, Yukon, and Alaska. I’m designating four to six weeks to explore the route North to Alaska.

A map of locations, overlanding trails, and next stops will be updated regularly once underway.

my rig | Max the 4Runner

Allow me to introduce Max the 4runner. Max is my person, my pal, and she gets me from A to Z. Max allows me to be on the road, full-time, giving me the unique opportunity to work with a bigger audience, find interesting stories, and follow my passion for capturing truly rugged and untouched terrains, like the Arctic.

I spent the last year researching modifications, designing systems, and building Max into what she is today. She has a dual-battery system to support my power needs, a portable kitchen, a closet, and a four-season insulated rooftop tent to act as both home and blind. I’ve invested a significant amount of time and money because this is both my career and what I love to do. I focused on needs before wants to get on the road faster and know that Max will change as my needs change.
